In February of 2010, Adel TV & Appliance, celebrated a major anniversary. Kenny Chapman marked 50 years as the store’s owner. In 1960, Kenny was owner of Ken’s TV & Appliance Repair. The business was renamed Adel TV & Appliance and he has never looked back.

In its current location for the past 35 years, Adel TV sells and services a wide range of televisions and appliances. They also sell, service and install heating and cooling units, and Kenny has more than 20 years of geothermal experience. Grills, satellite dishes and other electronic gear can also be found at Adel TV & Appliance as well. In 1994, a second location was established in Winterset offering the same small town service the Adel store is known for.

All five of Chapman’s children have worked at the business and two still do - daughter Tammy and son Terry. In fact, five generations of the Chapman Family have called Adel home. The business now employs 16 full time employees and occupies 1,200 sq. feet on Adel’s Main Street.

The Chapman family enjoys being a part of such a friendly and unique community and look forward to what the future holds.
